22 June 2020 (Quezon City) – Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) will hold on June 25 an online conference with over 100 government chief information officers (CIOs) on guidelines for work-from- home (WFH) and other alternative work arrangements under the new normal.

Chairperson Bala issued last May 7, 2020 CSC Memorandum Circular No. 10 entitled “Revised Interim Guidelines for Alternative Work Arrangements and Support Mechanisms for Workers in the Government During the Period of State of National Emergency Due to COVID-19 Pandemic.”

The conference delegates are incumbent and former government CIOs affiliated with the CIOForum and CIOF Foundation, which are civil society organizations registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to advocate for the widespread use of information and communications (ICT) technology in government operations, frontline services, and governance.

As long-time advocates for digital transformation and telecommuting in government, CIOForum and CIOF Foundation are conducting the 2020 CIOF First Online General Membership Meeting and Conference on the theme “Accelerating Digital Transformation in the New Normal”.

The conference will feature a presentation by Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Director Aida Yuvienco of the findings of the DICT survey on government’s readiness for WFH, followed by proposed solutions from industry partners Cisco and Fortinet, and other experts from the private sector.

An inspirational message on “ICT and Leadership Challenges in the New Normal: The Pasig Experience” is expected from
Pasig City Mayor Victor Maria Regis ‘Vico’ Nubla Sotto. (vmg200622)
